There are times when I question why I spend the equivalent of a Mercedes car note on private school. I mean, who needs quality education when you're going zero to sixty in a 560 SEL? Sheesh.
Today, I am reminded why. This is Trinity's 42nd annual May Fete celebration, where the school year is coming to a close, the classes perform a spring dance and the 5th Graders are honored prior to moving up to middle school. FORTY TWO YEARS. Tradition, people.
Did I tell you I went to Texas A&M?
So, um, to honor this forty two year old tradition, my child channeled his inner hippie and wore a tie dyed shirt and headband in a stunning dance routine to "Free Ride."
I was a little concerned, due to recent disciplinary action at school and home, so I watched as he was assigned to a bigger kid to walk in the procession. Because, you know, apparently he WILL NOT LISTEN TO HIS PARTNER.

The group lined up:

And they started their dance:

And then someone decided to take center stage:

Amid the giggles and laughter at my child, I looked at Matty and we both just shook our heads.
We have the star of the show, at school or at home.
To quote our favorite bedtime book, "there's just no one else quite like IV, my friend, and there never will be, not ever again."
