1095 WITH A BANG

1095 days of IV.

Before I put IV to bed last night, I told him that three years ago, he was in my belly.

"Here, mama?" he asked, patting my stomach.

"Yes sir. Right there. But not for much longer" I replied.

This is the first birthday that IV "gets" - he knows how old he is:

He knows about cakes:

And invitations and balloons and blowing out candles and parties.

He knows about opening presents and (trying) to share with friends:

He doesn't QUITE yet understand the importance of coordinating pets and patio furniture, but, well, he has ME for that:

......................................

I don't care what anyone says. Parenting is hard.

It is the most selfless, challenging, incredible thing I have ever done.

Three years ago? I had no idea the child I would have today.

I dreamed about it. I prayed and hoped for it.

And he exceeds it in every, single, possible way.

IV, thank you for making me a better person. Thank you for the joy you bring to my life.

Happy Birthday!

Love,
Mama
