Customers wish "God bless" and a young lady walking in asks the homeless man on the corner what he would like.
The kids cheerily munch on donut holes and kolaches, drinking milk "cafeteria style" out of cartons and straws. Big kid stuff, for sure.
People compliment the twins' hair, help open cooler doors for others, over the din of requests for dozens and cake style and jelly filled.
"The Donut Palace is a happy place!" I told Haynes.
"How could you NOT be happy here?" she replied.
We might be spending more time here. Who knew a pink awning could change your whole day?
